Cover Letters and LinkedIn
Today you have a choice between two tasks, each aimed at enhancing your strategic job search skills. By now you should have shared your resume with Mrs. Soeder. By the end of class you should have written a general cover letter or created a LinkedIn profile page. Your resume, your cover letter, and your LinkedIN profile will forever be a work in progress. Here are some resources you can use to develop your cover letter or your LinkedIN profile today.
- Return to Ohio Means Jobs, find the Assessments and Training under PLAN it. Get to the home page of assessments and training where there is a search bar and type "Internet Basics 7: Understanding Social Media" Click LAUNCH and you will be sent to a Table of Contents. Scroll down to chapter 7 where you will find a Linked IN demo video. Watch the video and create your own profile.
- Return to Ohio Means Jobs, find the Assessments and Training under PLAN it. Get to the home page of assessments and training where there is a search bar and type "Great Cover Letters" Click LAUNCH and then START Tutorials. Use the topics found in LESSON 1 and LESSON 2 that will help you write a cover letter.
- It might be easier to compose a cover letter if you have a specific job in mind. Find a posting for a position that would potentially align with your future career plans and frame your cover letter for this specific position.
