By now you know that you are expected to interview a LEADER in a field that aligns with your interests.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure that you are prepared to engage in a natural conversation that flows between you and the LEADER.
- It is expected that you demonstrate the professional attitudes and behaviors of a Perry High School Learning Through Internship student when you request this meeting.
- Use the RTN Field Guide to practice what you might say to your LEADER when you make the first call. See page 74.
- If you need to revisit Lesson 5 and 6 do so BEFORE you meet with your LEADER.
- The RTN Field Guide will serve as a reminder of the various topics and themes covered throughout your journey.
- Refer back to the questions you drafted along the journey and write down what you'll ask.
- Give the LEADER advance notice when setting up the interview,
- Be prepared to promptly begin with your first question when your LEADER is ready. Use page 76 of the Field Guide.
- If you need to revisit Lesson 7 do so BEFORE you meet with your LEADER.
During the interview with your LEADER you will need to gather specific elements to include in your final presentation
- Be sure you have the LEADER's full name and exact title.
- Take pictures or capture a video of your LEADER responding to one question (make it a good one).
- Use page 77 of your Field Guide to record notes during the interview.
- Write down your favorite quote. This will be something that your LEADER says to you in the context of the discussion that really resonates.
- Make sure you ask your LEADER to offer you piece of advice or inspiration. Record this on page 78-79 of your Field Guide.
Capture your initial feelings and thoughts soon after you leave the interview.

Here are the elements it should include...
- LEADER's Name, Title, and Company
- At least one picture of the LEADER. You will get a higher grade for multiple pictures or if you include a brief video embedded in this slide.
- Give your audience an overall summary of what you learned throughout the Roadtrip Nation Experience.
- Share the LEADER's quote that the really spoke to you (see page 77 of your Field Guide).
- Include the advice or inspiration that the LEADER provided (see page 78-79 of your Field Guide).
- Share /Email your slide with Mrs. Soeder. Road trip Nation Slides are due Thursday December 4, 2015.
