TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES
1. Am I an entrepreneur? Individually complete the 10 questions and score to learn more about your results. Then use the graphic organizer "What are the benefits of effective teamwork?" again as an individual. Break up into 4 small groups and share the characteristics you came up with on the graphic organizer. Share the list with students about what makes an effective team and allow time for students to edit their lists.
2. Team Survival Scenario - stay in the small groups from #1 and read the Team Survival Scenario. What are the final 12 items on your list? Share with the large group after consensus is reached.
3. Human KNOT - divide class into two large groups and follow the steps below.
4. Stacking Cup Challenge - Interns should return to their small groups from the survival scenario. Prior to the activity, cut 6 pieces of string and attach them to a single rubber band that is large enough to fit around a plastic cup. (The design should like like a sun with 6 rays of string, string being about 2-3 feet long). Challenge each group of six to stack 10 cups into a pyramid, 4 on the bottom, 3 on the next row, then 2, and then 1 on top. They can only use the string rubber band to stack the cups.

3. Human KNOT - divide class into two large groups and follow the steps below.
- Have all 10 kids stand in a circle, facing inward.
- Tell everyone to reach their right arm towards the center and grab someone else's hand. Make sure no one grabs the hand of the person right next to them.
- Next, have everyone reach their left arm in and grab someone else's hand. Again, make sure it's not the person right next to them.
- Now, the fun begins! The kids need to work together to untangle the human knot without letting go of any hands. The goal is to end up in a perfect circle again. They can go over or under each other's arms, or through legs if needed! Encourage them to do whatever they want, as long as they don't break the chain in the process.
