As you move through your high school career you should begin to notice that the high school learning environment is actually a professional learning environment and similar to a professional work environment in many ways.
As students and teachers we are expected to act professionally in the classroom, but what does this mean?
What does a professional environment look like?
What does this type of environment sound like?
What are the basic expectations of those in a professional environment?
Please answer the following questions as you consider the definition of professionalism. Submit your responses when you are ready. Each response should answer the question completely and should demonstrate your ability to use age-appropriate conventions of the standard English (capitalize, punctuate, complete sentences).
Use the Tracking Sheet you are provided to honestly monitor the professional behaviors and attitudes you plan to work on developing this semester. Use the following symbols to quickly note your progress two times each week. We will do this quickly during class time. Be sure to have your Tracking Sheet handy.

PROFESSIONAL ATTITUDES AND BEHAVIOR REFLECTION: At the end of the semester you will write a 3-5 paragraph reflection related to your own experience with tracking professional attitudes and behaviors. It's important that you carefully examine the self-assessments you made related to your progress and how they relate to what you originally considered to be professional behaviors and attitudes.
This assignment is to be shared with your teacher using google docs. Use the questions below to to drive your reflection. It is expected (in order to receive an average score) that all seven of these questions are thoroughly considered in the context of your reflection. Students who make connections between this experience and experiences in other classes, part-time jobs, athletics, clubs, or while volunteering will receive above average scores.
